An update

Well, I took another test this morning (a different kind) and the plus sign popped out before the control line did.  Huh.  I guess that means it worked, eh?

I'll be honest, aside from a few moments of absolute giddyness, I've been kind of numb.  Ok, really numb.  The only thing that keeps running through my head is "OMG, are we ready for this? What were we thinking? Parents? We can't be parents. . . "

The other thing that keeps going through my head is how to tell my parents.  Since I'm an only kid, this will be their first grandbaby.  (whoa, I just said grandbaby)  I want to do something fun, and surprise them on Christmas.  But that's as far as I've gotten.  Ideas?  I did buy my mom a digital picture frame for Christmas, so I was thinking I could use that somehow.  HELP!

And most important, thank you thank you thank you for being happy for me.  I'm going to have to let you guys be the happy ones for awhile.  I'm still in shock.  But it's so comforting to know that there is happiness out in the universe for my little one.
I hope it goes without saying, but I'm paranoid.  If you know me in real life, please don't say anything anywhere but on here!  This is my (and the Interwebs) big secret for the moment.

  1. oh my goodness, congrats!!!!!!!!!! That's so so wonderful. Hoping and praying for the stickiest and healthiest of babies!

  2. Holy crap congratulations!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry for showing up late to the party. I'm so excited for you.

You can add anything on there as long as it's on a flash drive and in jpeg format? What about a cute little slide show of pics of you and your parents as a baby and kid (if available) and then a pic or image at the end with "hope our baby is just as blessed. Merry Christmas grandpa and grandma." I don't know. Too cheesy?

If you don't have pics of you as a kid or can't scan them in, maybe digitally photograph paper with words and create a show with that, you know create a story out of it. That's all I got.

  3. Woohoo! I am giving you a full on congrats! What about the tag on the gift being from "your grandbaby"? Or, loading the digital frame with an image that says something like "Save the date xx/xx/xx to meet your grandchild". Make them turn it on to show them how it works and that will come up! I always wanted to be able to do something cool like that!

  4. OMG! How did I miss this news! Holy crap! :D Congrats!

  5. Are you going to have a beta? That might help the paranoia. When's the u/s?

As far as telling parents, I'm all for giving them clues and letting them figure it out. :)

  6. oh wow! That's great news.

Here's a thought for a gift: a t-shirt from neighborhoodies, or one you make yourself, that says "Expectant Grandma." It would be fun for her to show off when the time is right, too.

  7. Oh my I'm SO behind! Congrats lady!
